Ubud is quieter and greener, with rice terraces, lush vegetation and a completely different atmosphere from Bali's coastal areas.
GOOD TO KNOW
01Rice terraces, temples and many of Bali's famous swings are all a relatively short distance from each other.
02For food, we especially loved Ayung Terrace for breakfast and The Upper Deck for dinner.
03Also worth visiting are Tirta Empul Temple and Monkey Forest, two of the area's best-known spots.
